Short Abstract: Leveraging the Right Tools Topics in this presentation would include:

- Looking at how SVG applications have opened a new world of possibility for Web applications
- With SVG development still in its infancy how will new technologies have a dramatic effect on the way application code is created and reused.
- The true benefits of XML application development (lying in the ability to enable the complete separation of data, logic, and presentation).

It is up to the software architect or developer to determine the appropriate level of separation. When designed correctly, this separation enables application code to be re-purposed for multiple applications - resulting in a significant return on investment.
During this session, Phill Barratt (or other rep.) from Corel will demonstrate the dramatic impact that new technologies like Corel Smart Graphics Studio are having on the development of flexible and reusable SVG applications.
Short Bio: Phil Barratt is Business Development Manager for Corel's XML Content Solutions across the UK and EMEA, where he is responsible for driving sales and marketing activities of XML solutions. His primary focus is developing relationships with customers, partners, systems integrators and ISV's as well as directing marketing efforts and working alongside the professional services team.
Prior to becoming Business Development Manager for XML Content Solutions at Corel, Phill was Corporate Account Manager for XML CS in the UK. Prior to joining Corel he held a number of senior positions where he was able to develop his managerial and leadership skills. Examples of these roles include, Knowledge Developer at Ovaltech, SGML/XML Developer at Thomson Corporation and XML Enterprise Integration Consultant at Software AG.
Phill was educated at the University of Central England to post graduate level in Psychology, Sociology and Computer Sciences (Dip SW, CQSW).
